Digital Arrest is a virtual reality experience based on a true story that allows users to embody Jarrell Daniels, a young black man whose social media life fueled conspiracy charges leading to a six-year prison sentence in a New York prison. Digital Arrest explores how social media can be used as a tool for policing in the 21st century. The experience was founded by Columbia University’s SAFELAB and awarded 1st place for Creative Tech at the NYC Media Lab Demo Expo.
