I created a course called 3D Art & Aesthetics that I teach at NYU IDM for graduate students. The class teaches the fundamentals of 3D lighting and rendering in Autodesk Maya and Arnold Renderer. The course covers how to texture, light, and render realistic and conceptual 3D art. With an eye towards aesthetic polish, topics include utilizing materials, textures, cameras, shadows, particle systems, and rendering tools. In addition to Maya-specific processes, the course will address the psychological aspects of light, color, surface treatment, and composition.
